A large Emile Gallé cameo vase with a beautiful botanical motif which incorporates leaves on branches and clematis flowers. Underneath, at the base of the vase, you will find a piece of the original label from the retailer dating back over 100 years.
The vase was manufactured in Nancy, France, between 1908 and 1924, it is purple, blue, and mauve in colour. This impressive vase is in excellent condition, height 36cm (14 inches), diameter 16cm (6 1/4 inches) at the widest point.
When Gallé passed away in 1904, his friend and painter Victor Prouvé, oversaw managing of the company where high-quality glass was still being made. The last phase of the business (Établissements Gallé) was paradoxically the most prolific and financially successful up until around the mid 1930’s.
