A patinated Art Deco bronze paper knife by Lucien Georges Bazor, the knife shows a nude female with a cherub above her head. The bronze is signed Lucien Bazor and the year 1928. Size is 10inch (25.3cm) x 1inch (2.6cm) blade, NO420.
This letter opener is on exhibit in a number of museums, including the “Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal”.
Lucien Bazor (1889-1974) was the Chief Engraver at the Paris Mint, from 1930 to 1958. He is best known for his design of the 5 Franc piece in 1933.
