Large Bronze Visiting Card Tray by A. Lupiac “Three Graces”

 
A beautiful large visiting card tray, French School circa 1910. Two nymphs and a nymph’s head are depicted on the patinated bronze between maple leaves, (Three Graces).
 
Signed L. LUPIAC (born 1873 Toulouse) and the number (56263-4), the condition and casting is very good. The size is: from handle to handle 42cm(16 1/2inches) X 29cm (11 1/2inches).
 
The nymphs were usually associated with fertile, growing things, such as trees, or with water. They were not immortal but were extremely long-lived and were on the whole kindly disposed toward men.
