Emile Galle, Two Tier Table with Penguin Marquetry from the early 20th Century

A fabulous French Art Nouveau occasional table by Emile Gallé (Établissements Gallé) with exceptional Penguin marquetry from the early 20th century. The marquetry on top of the table is made from a variety of rich wood veneers, such as birch, mahogany, walnut, chestnut, sycamore, and bird’s eye maple. The legs and frame are made of beech wood.

This table is in very good original condition, with a nice patina. The arctic theme of penguins is rare, it is not the typical Art Nouveau design that Emile Galle created from 1890 onwards.
