Emmanuel Villanis was a French sculptor born on December 12, 1858, in Lille and died on August 28, 1914, in Paris.

 
He began his artistic education at the Accademia Albertina in Turin, studying under Odoardo Tabacchi. By 1885, he relocated to Paris, where he became one of the most prolific sculptors of the late 1800s. His striking bronze busts of women, skillfully cast by the Société de Bronze de Paris, earned widespread recognition, especially in the United States.
