This display cabinet is by Emile Gallé and dating from around 1900, it represents the characteristic of the Art Nouveau movement in Nancy France.
Meticulously constructed from walnut and marquetry fruitwoods, like burr walnut and maple.
 
It showcases orchids and fauna motifs that reflect Gallé’s fascination with nature. A very original piece of furniture with a good patina, it has been slightly refurbished.
 
Signed lower left with inlaid signature Émile Gallé in marquetry. Height: 130cm; 51 1/4in; width: 53cm; 20 3/4.
