A Rare Maurice Bouval Gilt Bronze Letter Opener

 
This is a stunning gilt bronze paper knife created by Maurice Bouval in France around 1900, the design features an Art Nouveau nude.
 
The casting and condition of the piece are exceptional, It is signed by Bouval and bears a foundry mark, as well as a small inscription from a previous owner.
 
Maurice Bouval (1863–1916) was a renowned French art nouveau sculptor, who gained recognition for his work at the 1890 Exposition Universelle in Paris. He was also a member of the Societe des Artistes Francais and he is highly sought after by collectors.
 
The Letter opener has a length of 23.5cm (9″ 1/4 Inches).
