A large cameo glass vase of exceptional quality designed by Paul Nicholas (1875-1952). The colour of the vase is reminiscent of a sunset in warm brown/red/orange tones.
 
The motif is acid etched and depicts a beautiful landscape scene with trees, a lake, small sail boats, and the sun shining in the sky.
 
The vase was manufactured by the well known company named “Saint-Louis” in Lorraine France, under their brand name “D’argental” which is signed on the vase.
 
Before creating his own pieces of art glass, Paul Nicholas was the chief designer of glass objects at the factory of Emile Gallé (Établissements Gallé) in the early 20th Century.
 
The quality and condition of this vase is excellent, the size is (13” 1/2) 34cm X 15cm (5”3/4) at the widest point.
