A Gilt and Patinated Bronze Lamp Base by M. Bouval

This exquisite patinated and gilt bronze figural lamp-base, crafted by the esteemed Maurice Bouval in France around 1900, exemplifies the elegance of the Art Nouveau movement.

The sculpture depicts a graceful nude figure leaning effortlessly against a delicate poppy stem, capturing the fluidity and organic forms characteristic of the era.

Retaining its original dark and gold patination, the piece is in a good condition, with a refined casting that highlights Bouval’s masterful craftsmanship. Signed M. Bouval, this work stands approximately 45.5 cm (18 inches) tall.

This is a very thought after design, the same design SOLD at CHRISTIES auctions in Paris and at Christie’s London 21 April 2021 lot258.

For safety the lamp had a PAT test
(Portable Appliance Testing) by a professional Electrician.
