A White Faience Cat by E. Gallé

 
A rare white ceramic glazed cat (fiancé) from the 1880’s created by Emile Gallé. Beautifully decorated with hand painted flowers and striking yellowish glass eyes. Made in the Nancy, France, workshops of E. Gallé.
 

It is extremely difficult to find this early version of Galle’s renowned cat designs in excellent condition, however, you can view a similar piece on display at the “Hetjens” Ceramic Museum in Düsseldorf, Germany.
